But the core problem was too interesting to leave out of my portfolio. So with the client’s permission I rebuilt the main experience: new brand, new data, same product thinking The core concept: **turn the classic detective’s evidence board into a digital workspace** [Image: Skein: the same idea as a digital graph] [Image: An evidence board with photos, pins and red string] ## Users Journalists, analysts, researchers, detectives. Anyone who's job is to quickly understand how a person is connected to an organization or event, and verify every link back to its primary source Stakes are high: wrong connection means bad data or even a wrong accusation ## Constraints **High data density** Hundreds of people, organizations and events on one canvas **Data keeps changing** Roles and relationships shift very fast **Every fact needs a source** The data must be trustful **Legal risk** The product works with real people ## Problems and decisions PROBLEM 1 ### Splitting the screen between the graph and the data I started by exploring how to balance the visual space between the graph itself and the context behind it. Internal A/B tests quickly pointed to the most practical layout: a dedicated left half for the graph and timeline and an independent scrollable right panel for the data [Image: Five layout options for splitting the screen between the graph and the inspector] PROBLEM 2 ### The graph turns into a hairball **Decision.** Depth 2 by default. Node labels were restricted to primary hubs, revealing the rest on hover PROBLEM 3 ### Exploring without losing context **Decision.** Two modes: Preview on hover and Pinned on click. The panel rebuilds around the hovered node, while the pinned one stays the point of reference [Image: Video: Preview on hover, pinned on click] PROBLEM 4 ### Entity type is hard to read **Decision.** Type is encoded by shape. Firstly, it was a special request by the compnay, since some of its workers were color-blind; secondly, because too many entities with their own colors would turn the graph into mess [Image: Legend: entity shapes and edge types] PROBLEM 5 ### Trusting a link **Decision.** Every link has a date (Since) and a source. Past roles are dashed and tagged FORMER. Synthetic data is labeled SAMPLE DATA. No invented metrics about real people [Image: Department of Justice pinned, with a dashed former role] PROBLEM 6 ### One panel for diffrerent entity types **Decision.** A shared template: header, main facts, connections, sources. But the set of facts depends on the type [Image: Right panel for a person] Person [Image: Right panel for an event] Event PROBLEM 7 ### “Why is X connected to Y?” **Decision.** The path is highlighted with a marker on the graph and explained in the panel (2 hops via Intelligence Community). The connections table tags it PATH [Image: Highlighted path from the pinned node to a hovered person] PROBLEM 8 ### Visual language **Decision.** The challenge was balancing heavy data density with clean aesthetic hierarchy. Yellow became the main accent color because color-blind users could see it as well. And distinct node shapes were used to communicate data states beyond just color coding [Image: First concept] Before: first concept [Image: Final visual language] After ## Stress test on real data What broke once real data went in and how it was solved OVERLAPS **More spacing plus a collision pass** Nodes and labels overlapped MISSING PORTRAITS **Initials as a first-class state** Some people have no portraits. Initials are designed as a state CHANGING ROLES **Role history and FORMER tags** Four cabinet members changed in 2026 alone ## Outcomes This was one of the most intellectually demanding yet deeply rewarding projects of my career, packed with pretty unique constraints. And my first time designing directly for color-blind accessibility. The live system was built for a specialized, closed audience using sensitive intelligence. Right now we’re actively gathering real feedback from users to shape the next iteration --- [Image: Units.Network] ## Units.Network Decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol on the Waves blockchain I was the only designer across the Units.Network ecosystem. I designed for five independent products with five different teams and design systems, and took two of them from zero to launch - Role: Lead Product Designer - Team: 5 product teams - Domains: DeFi, DAO, wallet, marketplace, prediction markets - Timeline: Jan 2025 – Aug 2026 ## The job Five independent products on the same blockchain, connected by nothing else. Each had its own team, roadmap, stage and design system > The job was keeping five products moving at the same time without design becoming the bottleneck - 5 products owned end to end - 5 teams designed with - 2 products launched from zero - 5 Separate design systems ## What I owned EVERY PRODUCT **Design end to end** From requirements to flows to final screens, for all five products NEW PRODUCTS **0→1 launches** Designed a prediction market and an AI-native on-chain marketplace from first flow to release CORE UX **DeFi flows** Deposits, positions, liquidity and every transaction state, so non-experts can finish what they start FIVE LANGUAGES **Five design systems** Each product had its own visual language and components. I worked inside all five and extended them as the products grew ## How I worked One designer can't out-draw five teams. So I changed how design moves through them **Speeding up my work with AI** I built working prototypes with MCP agents. Teams tested real interactions in days and we explored more directions per sprint than static screens allowed **Build on what exists** Each product kept its identity. I extended its patterns where they worked and introduced new ones only when the task demanded it **Every state, all edge cases** Pending, failed, partially filled, insufficient balance. In DeFi the edge cases are the product, so they shipped designed **Ready to build** Screens and flows went to engineering complete and documented, so teams built without waiting on me ## The products 01Prediction marketsLAUNCHED 0→1 **Predictorium (https://predictorium.io/)** A prediction market designed from scratch: how markets are read, how a position is opened and how an outcome is settled [Image: Predictorium prediction market] 02AI marketplaceLAUNCHED 0→1 **Xyper Market (https://xyper.market/)** An AI-native on-chain marketplace where autonomous agents and creators list, discover and trade [Image: Xyper agent-native earning network] 03DeFi, DEX **PuzzleSwap (https://puzzleswap.org/trade)** Swap and liquidity flows for a decentralized exchange on Waves [Image: PuzzleSwap swap screen] 04DAO **uMerge** DAO tooling for a decentralized ecosystem: proposals, structure and the decisions behind them [Image: uMerge DAO landing] 05Wallet **Aura Wallet** The native wallet of the Waves blockchain ecosystem: balances, assets, send, swap and receive in one mobile app [Image: Aura Wallet mobile app] ## What it shows **Range** Five Web3 contexts at once: trading, governance, a wallet, prediction markets and an AI marketplace **Ownership** No one to hand decisions to. Every call on every product was mine to make and defend **Speed** Code prototypes and fluent switching between five design systems let a single designer keep pace with five teams > Give me a complex product and a team that needs to ship. I'll set the direction and keep it moving --- [Image: BeInCrypto mobile screens] ## BeInCrypto Redesign for a global Web3 media platform Turned a homepage nobody used into the entry point to the company's products - Role: Senior Product Designer - Team: + Mid Designer, Head of Design - Result: +32% CTR to other products - Live: beincrypto.com ↗ (https://beincrypto.com) ## Problem The CEO asked to turn the homepage into a product showcase. It had 5.6M visits against 77M on the news section, and heatmaps showed the products the company had built were invisible: the promo button in the hero got zero clicks - 77M visits to the news section - 5.6M visits to the homepage [Image: Homepage heatmap] Heatmap of the old homepage ## Users Existing research plus new interviews showed two groups with almost nothing in common **The Beginner** Overwhelmed by crypto. Needs structure and a calm place to start **The Active Trader** Scans headlines fast. If something isn't immediately visible, it doesn't exist [Image: Customer development board] CusDev results: 1:1 interviews and survey ## Idea Readers scan headlines the way they scroll Twitter. So the homepage became an infinite news feed with product blocks woven in between: the content they already want, with the rest of the ecosystem surfacing as they scroll [Image: Annotated homepage wireframe] The feed with product blocks between articles ## Iteration Version 1 kept the homepage and the feed as separate pages. In testing, users still skipped the homepage. So we merged them: the homepage became the feed [Image: Version 1 with separate pages] Version 1: separate pages [Image: Version 2 with category combinations] Version 2: Category combinations ## Solution Three panels built around the feed, aligned across founders, advertising, development and five internal products over 100+ layout iterations FIXED **Left** Live news ticker and promotions SCROLLABLE **Center** The feed with Learn, Jobs, Airdrops and other products woven in FIXED **Right** Newsletter, InMarkets and future wallet [Image: Redesigned article page, mobile and desktop] Redesigned article page: contextual sidebar, author trust signals, related content ## Results A two-week test across five language domains: - +32% CTR to other products - +41% Avg. session duration - +24% Users exploring 2+ sections - −18% Bounce rate The layout is what beincrypto.com looks like today [Image: Old homepage] Before [Image: Current homepage] After --- [Image: InMarkets AI Chart Builder] ## InMarkets Crypto data platform with AI Co-Pilot Led design from the first wireframe to the AI Co-Pilot for a crypto data platform built to compete with CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko - Role: Senior Product Designer - Company: BeInCrypto - Timeline: Mar 2023 – Feb 2025 - Live: beincrypto.com/price ↗ (https://beincrypto.com/price/) ## Problem BeInCrypto had news and reach, but no data product. The brief: a crypto aggregator for 11M monthly users across 20+ languages that traders would open first > 42% of mobile users bounced within 10 seconds. Time-on-page was 23% lower than competitors **Cluttered IA** No clear hierarchy in market data. Everything competed for attention **Mobile afterthought** Desktop tables squeezed into a small screen **Multi-language fragility** Layouts broke with longer text, no RTL support ## Users Interviews and mobile focus groups across three segments: same product, different needs **Casual Investor** Tracks 5–10 coins. 78% wanted faster access to price alerts and favorites **Active Trader** Needs technical indicators without leaving the page **Crypto Enthusiast** Scans the top 20–50 coins. Needs fast tables on mobile and desktop ## Solution REDESIGNED **Information hierarchy** Top 50 coins as the landing view, quick filters, progressive disclosure for advanced metrics MOBILE-FIRST **Mobile tables** A column layout for small screens with swipeable rows and no horizontal scroll NEW FEATURE **AI Co-Pilot** Market summaries, indicator interpretation and alerts right on the coin page [Image: InMarkets coin detail page] Coin page: price performance, TradingView chart, markets table ## AI layer Microsoft Co-Pilot embedded into coin pages as a native sidebar, plus an AI Chart Builder: ask for a chart in plain language and add it to your own dashboard. The casual investor gets a trader's analytical depth without feeling like they need one [Image: AI-built dashboard] Dashboard assembled from AI-generated charts ## Design system 20+ languages meant designing for failure by default, so we built a system that handles it - 200+ components - 20+ language variants - −30% handoff time ## Results Tracked for six months after launch: - 400K MAU within 6 months - +38% mobile engagement - +14% CTA conversion across 6 A/B tests - −30% design-to-dev handoff time
